Title: S3 phone case
Post by: scarr89 on 14 July 2012, 16:46
Yooo peeps. My S3 has finally arrived...£28 a month, 600min, 1GB data & unlim txts on Orange.  I feel that is such a good deal seeing as I know people who are paying £41 a month

So yea, I'll probs be getting one of those screen protectors but am also thinking about a phone case.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-Flip-Case/dp/B0080CXR6O/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1342280662&sr=8-6

I have seen one of these and really quite like them, it totally replaced the back panel for one the same but it has the front flip cover on the front.

Just want some others opinions if you have any cases for your S3

I don't like those flip cases, but I know people who love them. They make the phone unnecessarily bulky, whatever phone I get next it WILL have Corning Gorilla Glass 2 or and a gel or silicon case again. I dropped my phone from waist height face first onto a rough concrete surface and it had no scratches or damage at all, the aluminium case got a little marked.

BTW the S3 has Gorilla Glass 2

What is this gorilla glass you speak of?  Just a f**king nails screen yea?

My original galaxy S' screen has held up well, with only a screen protector on for 12months out of 24. I think I will go visit a phone shop before making a decision you know... :undecided:

My S2 has never had a screen protector on and it hasn't got a mark on it. Also its been dropped quiet a few times and has survived  Screen protectors make the screen laggy and not as smooth to touch

I got a free screen protector with mine... binned after 2 days. ended up with a soft rubber sleeve which just goes over the outside and back. does the job and phone doesnt feel bulky

I got my deal from dialAphone.com or whatever its called. I don't know how they can be £8 a month cheaper than Orange, and over £10 cheaper than O2 a month...I'll never go back to O2 now. I think people give you more money off now if you are a new customer rather than being loyal...

Back on topic...I'm going to roll case free until I find one in shops I like...It is always quite sizeable so don't want to make it to much bigger. As for the screen protector I'm going to leave that off also. I have phone insurance through my bank, so I'll use it if needs be!

On my SII I had a two- piece case - hard shell and gel liner.  I have no idea how many times it saved the phone, but for about a fiver it did a bloody great job.  I think this is one like it:

I was about to buy this one, but I'm not sure it'll provide sufficient protection around the bottom and face down drop protection.

OP, have you found a case yet?

I've ordered two cases, one that looks like they'll protect it properly, I've opt for a case DH recommended as he used the S2 version and rates it, if that's not a good recommendation then I don't know what is

I order this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/SUPERGETS%C2%AE-Protection-Protector-Sensitive-Polishing/dp/B008AVMLV2/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1343742051&sr=8-9), my wife a white one like it and this one  (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S-LINE-WAVE-GRIP-SERIES-SILICONE-GEL-CASE-COVER-FOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S3-I9300-/160818734845?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item25718b26fd) as a spare.

I almost went for a car enthusiast cover  but figured the other had more protection.

It's got the performance of an S3 - all other phones are GTI's or TDI's or SDI's in comparison

After hearing what a certain other member has been through with phone insurance so far, I'd rather steer clear tbh!
