Thanks guys, really do love it, fell on my feet with it! Do they normally grumble a bit when you let of the throttle? I think I has had the precat removed as the turbo spools quickly and can hear it quite well too..??

It was sold as 'completely standard' so It shouldn't of had any work done. It is definitely normal for the standard Gti to 'burble' a little bit when coming off throttle. The noise is unburnt fuel hitting the hot exhaust.

Cool.. I wasn't sure, I know they have got a semi decent exhaust system on with being the GTI but I didn't think they would over run like it does! Has anyone on here removed the precat with the standard system?

Thinking about either Decat to standard exhaust, or just remove precat, smooth out the airbox with a decent panel filter and then a map. Might lower it a bit, I think is a bit high really.
Oh and refurb the wheels!!

Pics from today after a 2 bucket wash with my megulars gold..

Let it dry over night properly and then will be getting a polish! Love it!!!

Looking good, I do like myself a nice red MK5.

Remap really does transform the car, you'll love it. Because the Monza 2s are diamond cut it isn't your average wheel refurb job. Many members have used these guys - http://www.lepsons.com/ - who can refurb these wheels and have been happy. Mine are getting refurbed and painted soon (admittedly not Monza 2s) and will be sent to these lads.

Welcome to the MK5 section :)

I have read your build thread and want to take some inspiration from yours.. What exhaust system are you running again, and is it loud?? I was wondering about this combo.....

My build thread? I dont know one lol :undecided:

Im running a full turbo back Milltek non resonated system. I've found that it isn't too loud and I find it perfect for the car (just, anything louder and it would be too loud and it can sometimes get a bit boomy on the motorway when you accelerate a bit, all very minor).

The links youve posted are fine, don't forget you need to get the cat back system aswell as the downpipe. Gives you shiney new exhaust pipes

Oh..  :embarassed: have read something about your car, where you have put all your mods and stuff on.. Haven't I??  :undecided:

I was just thinking about a full cat back, but want it to stay nice and quiet and also be nice and cheap!! Had people used cheaper systems I.e..

???? It has got 2 silencers so can't be that loud can it??

Wheel re-furb & replace the broken spot light & will be spot on.

I have had a price for the refurb.. £500!!!!! Would they look ok if they where powder coated in a similar colour to standard??? So I don't know what to do, ideally I want some bbs ch's for it.

That is the reason I bought this one, because it needed a few little things I can play with to make it perfect!! :-)

500 Quid is not bad for four due to the diamond cut finish. Powder coat would work but i think they would look too much like the 17'' monza's. Look for a second hand set of ED 30 alloys if you fancy the CH style, made by BBS & will be a straight fit.

Any one got Matt black ch's on a red gti??? Just found these and they seem to be doin it for me a bit, I just don't want it to turn chavvy or have to run mega lows to pull them off..

 :embarassed: :embarassed: sorry lol.

I am in a predicament, I need new tyres but as you an see my wheels need doing.. So it is worth just buying new wheels - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140809766117?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648#ht_980wt_922
Because I am going to spend how much on tyres and then the refurb on top of that!!
