well its another post about water getting in my mk4 t reg 1.8, non sunroof, 5 door. i've just sealed the air vents under the bumper hopefully that'll cure the rear passenger foot well dampness.
however im still getting water in the door seals at the bottom cant seem to find where its coming from, its just sitting in the part of the seal where it meets the plastic trip by the carpet.
can anyone shred any light.
cheers

turns out that its getting in the window seals and not running out the bottom of the doors as should, sealed the inner door plate to death and unblocked holes hopefully it'll cure itim sure we'll find out soon, in this glorious summer weather!

Are the holes at the bottom of the door?
-
Common fault with them door seals. What did you use to seal them?
-
yer holes are at the bottom of the door. it rained last night and no water sitting on the door seals, sweet. just trying to dry car out. i used clear shower sealant on the the door seals and around the inner door plates.

I had water getting into the drivers footwell it turned out to be coming from the hole that the cable for the bonnet catch runs through between the bonnet and windscreen. just pop the rubber into place or silicone it as it cant be seen

yer 've heard this to be abit of a problem on these.

Might have to take a look at this myself, had water leak problem for a while, front and back drivers side.
Done the sun roofs, and cleaned inside the plastic of the wheel arch!
I have very similar, drivers door seems to be alot of water gathering, yet cant see how it would seep in!

have a look where the bonnet catch cable runs through the fire wall. the rubber might have came loose. if that is the problem the water will just be in the drivers footwell.
hope you get sorted
