Yup, had it for about a year now, it's kind of like having a diesel now in that i have to wait for it to finish before starting like waiting for the coil light to go out! Cool though.

The alarm chip is one of the most useful I've found.

The Golf chirp is pretty pathetic. My mates Mrs Rocco is much louder and more like it!

Depends how loud you need it. I can hear it fine from several metres away from the car. Certainly better than no chirp at all.

What I don't like about the alarm chirip is, it makes your car sound like the dubbed in sound effect they use on every single tv programme or film where someone remote locks their car. (That is if they lock the car or even close the windows at all)

Cluster stacking is cool. Just a pitty it can't be done on a GT.

I turned on the beep confirmation and had it on for about 24 hours before realising it was tacky and took it off

I think the beep was thought to be cool in 1988, when people would look and marvel at the way you could open your car without using the key. Or at least that's what we liked to think they were thinking.

The chirp thing is massively useful in the states when trying to find your car in their mahoosive car parks! Came in very handy at Disney World and Universal trying to find our hire car anyway.

Perhaps not so much in the local Sainsbury's??

Yes I did the needle staging last year.

Cluster Staging / Gauge Needle Sweep

Now I've seen this feature on YouTube a few times but they only show the Golf GTI doing this. I searched around and a user on another forum who has a GTD as enabled this feature on his.

Now this will depend which type of instrument cluster you have fitted it must be an 'H' type. If you want to know how you find which type of cluster you have read here (http://"http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4920304-DIY-Cluster-Staging-Gauge-Needle-Sweep-thru-Vag-Com")

Select 17-Instruments

Select Adaptation - 10

Select Staging from the combobox

If it hasn’t been changed it will say not active in the Stored value

Select active from the New value combobox and click Do It!. You will get a message are you sure you want to change not active to active just click yes.

Now when I activated mine I turned the ignition off then on and the needles didn’t sweep I tried this a couple of times. I turned off and removed the key then inserted it and turned on and the both needles swept.

My new toy is watching those dials sweep
Found someone in Croydon who likes beer tokens and followed your instructions (including doing it twice as it did not work first time)!  I though about the free download version and buying a cable, but I'm unsure if the free version is worth it...... :nerd:

You don't have to do it twice as I said.

You just have to remove the key then switch it back on.
