Thinking of buying a Audi TT TDI S-Line coupe but not sure if its worth spending £25k on it.
Im ideally after a weekend diesel sports car something abit out of the ordinary as most people around my area either have the BMW 3 series m-sport, Audi A5, Merc C-Class.
Im going to be sharing it with my Dad as he's been quite ill recently and getting quite old and he's always wanted something new, fun to drive but he's never been able to afford it.
What do you guys recommend?

weekend diesel sports car???
:undecided:
seriously for 15k you can have something that really is fun, is cheap enough so you DONT have to buy the dieseasal version, and as a bonus the less you spend the less you lose.
good on you for getting your dad something nice... but dont waste it on a sh1tty diesel audi... seriously!! I know people on here have them..... but they have reasons for this. you dont

Have you considered the Mazda MX5?
-
if i had that money id be looking at an edition 30 and saving quite a bit
-
After something VAG, and preferably a 2 seater.
Needs to be economical, cheap to run insure and tax and he's not worried about it being fast etc
-
Corrado tdi.............
Yeah thats right! Bloke on the Corrado forum (forgot his name) will build it to your specification for a very good price!

if i had to get a Derv... id be looking at a BMW 335D or a 535D
would not go anywhere near a 7 series.. big daft and loose value like a mofo

What Kell said my mom had a 335 D estate M-POWER as a courtesy car the thing was a rocket seriously fast motor and it had all the toys
-
if your heart is set on a diesel 2 seater vag, you havent many options. spending 25k to have a cheap to run diesel sports car is crazy.....put your dad in any 15k petrol sports car and see if hes bored....the saving on the diesel running costs will be gone out the window with depreciation..
fair play to you though for looking after your dad

Rocco derv needs to be considered too, similar idea to the TT but probably a fair bit cheaper or are you buying new?

This, really. Although the MX-5 concept still has massive merit, even at £2.5k.
Do the pair of you want fun, or something flash?

335d msport coupe all the way with remap 360bhp, mate has 07plate msport saloon335d mapped brilliant.

Just sold my S3 due to doing too many miles to justify the petrol cost, I've bought a tt tdi and can't say I've regretted it yet, its comfortable, returns between 45 and 55mpg on most journeys and looks good with it. I've had a BMW 330d and it almost crippled me with things going wrong and ate rear tyres.
I got a great deal from Audi so pay less per month than I did for the s3, have half the car tax and close to twice the mpg. I would add that we do still have a petrol golf for weekends though, not sure If I'd drive a petrol in the week and diesel for weekends does seem a bit the worng way round but you know the reason why you want this better than anyone else.

Dpf replacement on any modern diesel and all that "saving" is out the window
