Title: Oil cap missing

Opened bonnet on gti to check levels today to find the oil cap missing and what looks like the bottom part of the cap stuck in the hole, called vw Bristol to be told not to drive car as the other half could be in engine bay, strange design if u ask me,

Good excuse to get yourdelf one of those R8 style caps i guess.

Can't believe something like a simple oil cap wud be

Took car to vw today they put car on ramp to look for missing cap, they did not find it so replaced the whole cap for a new one. Not the only part to fall off as the plastic cap on the air box fell off witch I'm not worried about as waiting for a new revo intake when there ready

had this happen on the mk5 where top separated which appeared to be due to engine cover not being reaffixed correctly (was missing grommets), r8 cap i ran began to separate so removed

Hope it don't happen again could easily cause damage
