Title: Undertray removal
Post by: Joewb84 on 10 July 2012, 19:06
Hi, hope someone can help.  I've got a mk4 gti turbo.

Part of my undertray had broken and was hanging down.  I have removed the central piece but the broken section is on the drivers side.  I have removed all the screws underneath that I can see and the tray seems to be loose but I can't get it off.  Do I need to remove anything else or should I just yank it out?  Don't want to pull it too hard in case I break anything.

Its now held on by a couple star shaped clip up in the wheel arch. use a screw driver to prise the clips off then give it a good yank and it should come out.

Can you get the star shaped clips off without taking loads of other parts out to get to them?  I can see one of them from under the car.  Can you get it off from underneath or do you need to get to it from above?

I did give some thought into driving it over something to knock it off but I don't think that's a long term solution, lol.
