I agree with the FMIC choices

With regards to the filter/CAI, it all depends what you want:-
panel filters are fine, but I removed my SAI and needed to buy an AGU airbox as it doesnt have the SAI so no hole in the airbox casing

The ebay ones go quite near the floor and if your lowered very close to the floor and people are worried about it sucking water up

The next choices are home made/source parts, I have a small tube off the MAF to an air filter with a cold feed

Its all down to personal choice, panel filters are quiter, cones you hear the DV noise more

Sorry to hijack the thread but seemed appropriate, if i install a FMIC will it make a big difference without getting it mapped again? or will i need to map to see the benefits? Cheers

It will need mapping again to see the full gains (stage 2 ideally)

Hi, does fitting a pipercross panel filter make any real difference as I have only recently bought the car which was serviced with new filters. I know what it says on the box but is it proven. I have smoothed the air box and it will be remapped once the exhaust manifold sorted.

Cheers.

You won't really notice much difference before the map but they definatly help te figure when it is bein mapped

Thanks for the reply,

The manifold on mine is cracked so needs to be replaced. Just going to stick to the standard manifold as keeping the standard exhaust.

I have been qouted £160.00 for the job of replacing it, just the labour, a brand new VAG manifold is £252.00.
