Morning, Any advice on this would be appreciated.
I have a panasonic cd changer in the boot of my mk4 GTi. The head unit is the original Gamma one.
The cd changer is on its way out and I need to replace it.
I don't want to change plugs/leads if possible, so do i need to replace with a similar/same panasonic model or can i replace with another brand say Sony or Alpine?
If theres a topic already on the forum abouth this pls point me that way as i couldn't find it!
Thanks Kris.

I doubt you will be able to fit a different cd changer, normally the plugs are different between the makes.

Thought as much, been advised to drive it down to a local ICE shop.

So the ICE man in Saxtons Portsmouth, told me this afternoon that, it wasnt possible to put any other cd changer with the original VW Gamma headset as it wouldn't recognise the headunits commands/configuration and added i'd have to replace the cd changer with the exact same panasonic model. Is he pulling my todger? anyone had this problem?
Otherwise I'm gonna have to buy and fit a second hand head unit and changer!

Yer he will be correct with that.
You could search ebay and see if you can find the same cd changer, if not ive got a pioneer head unit and 6 disc changer if your interested.

My choice would be an oem in dash changer
