Title: 130PD injectors into 115PD
Post by: sveed1.8T on 09 July 2012, 21:36
Now if I was to do the above, would it be worth it in terms of gains? Or would I then need the turbo to go with it to really notice the difference? :undecided:

I know there isn't a "huge" amount of difference between the two engines, n I'm trying to work out what tweaks I can do before looking at getting a map! I don't like the idea of just mapping a 115PD and still not hitting 150bhp!! :lipsrsealed: Especially after having a Spec1 mapped 1.8T! :undecided:

I'm already running a full milltek system with decat, smoothed airbox, Pipercross panel filter and a cold air feed in case you were wondering.

I really don't know

You'd have to ask one of the bigger boys. I'd imagine it help with fuel economy and perhaps a slight amount of power, but you still have the same amount of air going in and more fuel...So yeaaa  :undecided:

The problem is that the 'bigger boys' are not speaking up! :undecided:

It would make sense, but I'd just like to know if anyone has any insight into updating their injectors on a diesel!

As far as I know you only need to uprate injectors if you get a bigger turbo.

you'd probably gain more smoke than power, isn't really worth it unless you're putting the asz or arl turbo on

Love it!

Topher, if I was to change the injectors for 130PD injectors and upgraded to a 130PD turbo, would I then need to change the cams, or would it be fine without?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to work out if it is financially worth it!?

I was looking into doin gthis on my 100 but i cant be arsed at the minute, as far as i am aware to make the most effective use you need the 130 intake pipe with maf etc, turbo, injectors, and some people talk of a 3 bar map sensor.

Im sure also you can have the original ecu reflashed i think its called which saves you the hassle of looking for a 130 ecu.

Like i say im sure thats all that needs to be done, the cam and stuff can still be used, like i say if im wrong someone with more experience please point it out as i am still in learning stages of the PD engine :)
