Title: Washer jets for flushed bonnet?
Post by: dubstar9 on 09 July 2012, 20:48
The Vento bonnet I have now fitted has got the washer jet holes filled so the next question is what do I use to fit washer jets under the bonnet?

Do I fit ones that clip under the bonnet, clip to the plastic scuttle panels or do I drill into the scuttle and fit screw fit washer jets?

Is there any jets that fit that I can re-use the heated jet wiring?

My vr has the originals on the skuttle.

You can buy a kit that fits the washers on the arms/blades themselves.I had one msyelf many years ago, would'nt be difficult to make one though.

You can get washer jets in halfords that bolt on, just drill the scuttle panel / cover.

Just use the mk4 ones and hotglue them onto the scuttle, they give a nice spray pattern aswell instead of just a jet.

The answer I found was from an American RV specialist with some clip on washer jets and feeding the washer pipes behind the wiper arms, Job done.

Im not feeling the visible hoses, especially when going to the trouble of smoothing the bonnet only to clutter up the scuttle area instead.

I am still on the look out for black washer pipe, once I have some I think/hope this will look 100% better with some replacement black wipers too. :smug:

Just fit Mk4 washers, I can take a picture of mine later to show you how they look/fit. Surely that's the tidiest option?

Has anyone got photos of this mod?
I've bought a vento front end that happens to be smoothed And I'm having a nightmare placing the washer jets.

I used mercedes vito one's,they go on the pivot point of the metal part and point downwards.they have 5 squirter holes per arm. They are similar to these but the bit the tube goes on to is much shorter.:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-MERCEDES-VITO-Front-Screen-Windscreen-Wiper-Wipers-Blades-Washer-Jets-22-26-/250938244008
