Hey Guys,
I recently seen that the glow plug light has come on the dashboard - with a display saying "engine fault - Workshop" (something along these lines)
The engine seems a little ratlly/juddery - no loss of power or anything in fact strangely it feels more responsive.
Comes on periodically - can anyone shed some light on this please?
is there anyway of resetting the memory??? like on fords turn the key five times to the ignition position, 2 beeps later its reset
Thanks in advance

You need to get a diagnostic done on her.
Where are you based?

Hey Doc,
Based in the midlands - Derby
-
check your brake lights are working. a faulty brake pedal switch can illuminate the glow plug symbol.
-
Doc is there is easy way to find out what the fault code is by turning the key or anything alike??
-
Cheers Topher,
Just checked all brake lights working ok.
just happened to switch it on too and no errors on MFD or glow plug light - any ideas what this might be?
urgent regen possibly it is a oil burner

it could be dpf related, although the plug light tends to flash constantly in those cases. if you want to take a trip down the A38 i can take a quick look for you, might turn out to be a sensor which would be a straight forward warranty job.
i think there is a way to access fault codes using the climatronic but i can only find info on the older versions.

As above chaps - thanks TOPHER

Thanks Topher I think you might be right quite well possibly be DPF related - will see what happens when i take it for a blast on the motorway tomorrow.
I dont think I have climatronic (assuming its the electronically controlled cabin temp)
I thought I had recognised midland VW logo somewhere just realised my last service was done there.....have to say it was a good job....found a fault the stealer could not find.
Do let me know if there is a way I can find out the fault without the OBD port :) thank you
