Whats the likely problems you will cause running the car MAF disconnected?
Just curious as everyone says do it on very short trips becasue its bad for the engine but what will actually happen haha??
Don't fancy testing it myself just yet :grin:

I actually done this today, and ran the car for about 1 mile or thereabouts, to see if my problem was with the maf. My car run exactly the same as when it was plugged in, so I guess its not my maf that is at fault. And I have have not experienced any problems for trying it.

I think the maf has something to do with how much fuel is injected. So if you leave it unplugged then it may overfuel/underfuel...

With no maf the car feels sh!t. As in a lower max rev limiter. The MAF helps work out how much fuel needs to be injected, you can tune the ECU to run without a MAF as well as some aftermarkets ECU's can do this. So with the maf off the ECU becomes cautious.

Yup, it runs on safe fuel values according to the throttle angle, no air is taken into account. It also limits your boost

my maf was knackered only running 170bhp when i took it off it ran worse .so after a couple of weeks bought a brand new maf and now the car must be running 220 easy boosting 1.5 bar .so my maf was the problem

It will not hurt for a short test ride but should never be left disconnected.
