Title: meguiars
Post by: jamesblonde on 09 July 2012, 15:42
Just used the Meguiars Clay bar kit and it brought a very nice shine up on my mk3. Very pleased with it.

What is a good polish to go on top of this to give it the ultimate shine?

Go easy on Tornado red, depending on what sort of life it's had the paint will be thin in places, I'd suggest going with a light polish soft pad combo,
These are good polishes and not aggressive

Or this if it just needs a tickle

Megs 205 is a good finishing polish also.

Megs 205 is just sooooo Good!
I've just ordered a big bottle of this and a little bottle of 105 for the bad bits! I'm new to machine polishing so have that nervous excitement thing going on! I've just got the Das6 pro from CYC and it's shockin how much noise it makes!

das 6 pro is a great machine... you'd be surprised how noisy you think they are and how the sound isn't that bad nearby... thats why a lot of people try and speak to me when I am polishing and I can't hear a thing!

this.

however, 105 can be deadly in untrained hands, if thats the case, then use the slightly softer, but just as good, ultimate compound

(btw, im just quoting directly from meguiars)

Meguiars said it can be deadly? Not the best sales technique is it?  having said that i rubbed a little bit between my fingers yesterday and you can actually feel how course it is!
