Post by: mcgee9t2 on 07 July 2012, 17:05

took it out, cleaned it all. put it back. started tidying up, and realised ive left this part out...  D'OH

im thinking theres a chance the gears might fall off there spindles with out it? tried it and its working. but i really cant be arsed to take it apart again.

(also mods ive put it in vw so it gets more veiws. move to mk4 if you need)

well yeah, obviously its needed, otherwise it wouldnt have been put on, thing is, i dont have time tonight, only way im going to be able to do it tomorow is if i do it in the dark, monday working 7-6, packing, then off on holiday, get back from holiday, then work once i get back bla bla bla...

what i should have said is, am i going to HAVE to do it tomorow in the dark or will i be ok driving monday then three days once i get back with it off. untill that weekend when ill be able to sort it... or am i liable to have the gears fall off within a few starts?

what i should have said is, am i going to HAVE to do it tomorow

Yes. It looks like a retaining plate/gear carrier.
It's not like this is a bulb, or a piece of trim. It's a vital part of the starter motor.

what was the point in them showing the start on bbc1, then putting the tenis on bbc1 and switching the f1 to bbc2?

why not just put the tenis on bbc2... f**king bbc making me get out of bed to get my remote!

after

what i should have said is, am i going to HAVE to do it tomorow in the dark ........................

so lying in bed, watching the F1 is more important  :lipsrsealed:
