Title: Price of a mk5 gti when the mk7 comes out?
Post by: mac456 on 05 July 2012, 10:03
What do you guys think?

I am thinking a good 50-60,000 mile example which is currently worth around 7k.

Do you think this will drop much when the mk7 is released? if so by how much? what is the usual trend?

I don't think it will have any effect at all. It only usually effects the current model that's been replaced. Even then, it will only be the nearly new ones.

At this age (of the MK5), prices should continue their slow decline because someone looking at cars priced £7,000 is unlikely to be looking at a new car priced £25,000.

Two very different markets.

oh right, well I was going to hold off because I though I might lose some of money on it if I got it now then just wait next year.

But if it aint much, might start looking.
