CTR's are quick off the line..

I reckon the type-r would have a remapped 1.8t at Santa Pod.

Different story on the road though

The thing with ctr's is the have naff all torque and power low down as the ony reason the make 200hp is because they rev their tits off! So unless you keep it up there, they're is no go

I reckon a CTR with 20bhp more would slaughter a 180bhp golf personally. They might have no torque but driven properly they're always in vtec, I had an EK4 and have driven a friends CTR a few times before so can kind of speak from experience.

Besides, they're a much more capable all rounder and I would feel much more comfortable pushing a CTR hard than my golf.

Having owned 03plate ctr must say my golf quicker by far, BUT like someone said previous don't redline them around the streets. pref my old Alfa 147 GTA over both easy, just need loads money to maintain.

mate and i sprinted from Ipswich to colchester and back and yeh he was quick off the mark but get to the  high way and i sailed past with windows open causing drag, did notice his engine screaming all the way lol

i had my 150BHP with zero mods and a split breather, his was the Vtech i think, looks like typR but is not if you understand that?
