It says 2.25" inlet and outlet but the tubing is only 2" and this isnt ideal really you'll want 2.5" tubing and none on ebay have that

Im going to disagree, Mines a toyosports F.M.I.C kit although it looks identical to that, infact the pictures is exactly the same!

With a bit of time and effort you can get it to fit relatively well

R-tech Managed to get 231bhp and 258lbs out of the restrictive 1.75" pipework from the turbo to intercooler. As soon as I get this selection of pipework changed to 2.5" R-tech says another 10bhp will easily be achieved

So in conclusion.... If you dont want to save yourself alot of money and a bit of time and want a direct fit go and by a Forge or THS for 3times + the amount for a direct fit! How ever the latter option didnt appeal to me for obvious reasons

Post by: cullygti on 03 July 2012, 12:38
chris when people say it dont sit very good they are refering to the pipework as its hard to fit them behind the grills not the core itself i had one and took it off due to not being able to hide the pipes behind the grill

i dare say with a bit more patience i could have done it but it done my head in

I struggled and ended up looking like the above and also had the pipe work painted black to make it look abit more oem but still werent happy.
Although its a fraction of the cost of well known brands and does the same job as them and still looks quite cool when times been spent on them.

A lot of the cheap ones not bar and plate core so not that good for cooling as to bar/plate core.

I wouldnt say dont get it.

Its your choice and your budget.

Iv had one and it done the job I want to save for a THS one but thats me being snobby and purely for cosmetic reasons.

is this one beater as its 2.5 not 2.25 pipes also it says its is a Bar and Plate Intercooler

Even bigger piping  :lipsrsealed: Not exactly easy fitting. What I did was bought toyosports pipe kit they do separate in 2" and bought the A4 FMIC core which is 2" by toyosports and fitted it all together, performance in terms of where I'd hit heat soak before so easily, to no heat soak issues at all. I have been happy with all of toyosports products so far. But it's down to you! With some effort and maybe some additional silicon pieces you can make it work better. I found the U-pipes to be a pain in the backside at the front with the bumper, but with silicone pipes as replacement things where a tad easier and they could be bent a tad without distorting due to being multi-ply.

As said down to you

I emailed the guy who sells all this, its still 2" tubing the core inlet and outlet are 2.5" but then it uses reducers

How much power are you aiming for? As that could determine wether you need 2.5" or not...

Didnt realise that you were aiming for 250+

IMO your still well off the spec list for the 300 mark :lipsrsealed:

Your going to be needing

*Badger 3" tip
*Injectors
*3" maf
*K04-023 or a form or hybrid
*Possibly LCR fuel pump & F.P.R
*Relentless high flow manifold
*3" turbo back, decat/sports cat exhaust
*atleast 2.5" intercooler pipework
*A big FMIC (forge. ths size) scrap the ones your looking at.
*W.M.I possibly
*Clutch
*forge actuator
*A good tuner i.e R-tech

Probably a good £1.5k+ above  :lipsrsealed:

and even with the above supporting Mods, you might find you have worn engine parts etc which will then of course limit your power out put
