Title: mk 3 gti agg oil pump
Post by: djhectic on 16 June 2005, 15:31
where is it,internal or external??how easy is it to change.got a bit of a noisy top end,i've had 2 mk 2 gti's changed the tappets and cured the problem but the tappets on a mk 3 are alot more expensive than the mk 2,some one told me the oil pumps loose preasure ??and this might be the problem, the car has only done 62 thou with a full history.its more noticeable when the car is warm/hot.
I was reading the post about engine flush with oil and automatic gear oil does this realy work will it damage the engine in any way?
thanks in advance

Remove the sump and you should be able to remove the pump complete on gti engines.
If you are worried then get the engine oil pressure checked.
