Title: MK1 Sportline GTI grill badge.
Post by: MrRetro on 02 July 2012, 00:22
Does anyone please know what type of GTI grill badge fits the sportline grill, Or better still have a pic handy if your a fellow sportline owner..Or if you know its the same grill badge for all late spec big bumper cabs.?

Someone had glued a GTI badge on my grill, Removed it now seeking the right type

Thank you very much

Hi,

The sportline badge is the same as the Rivage or very late cabby GTI badges.

It was an aftermarket part from the optional extras catalouge.

Part No 853 VAG 763

Its very similar to the MK2 GTI one.
The Mk2 badge is bigger as the lettering is a lot wider and thicker if that makes sense and looks like this..

I zoomed in on some pics and went on ebay and picked up a mk2 badge for a tenner as they look very simular.

Thank you

Hi,

I reckon the mk2 would fit. Mine goes onto my Rivage grille, it's not a brill fit as mine has the top lugs missing.

cheers

Yes fella,
straight swap over, mine is on a J plate, but the one I have on now is from a K.
I think the pre 88 ones may have a different number of slats etc.
No doubt if that's wrong someone will come along and say so..lol.

so one from a similar late year car, should be ok.

Regards

Chalky
