Not bad, but still not my cup of tea...

The end product reminds me of the spy shots you see of new vehicles....

Matt probably isn't the best colour to show it off in.
The forum I lifted the video from says a few folk have had their car covered in this for less than half the price of a wrap and just as durable..
One of the videos that company has made is repainted wheels with the plastidip being washed with a power washer. I would have thought it would have came off but it was solid.
I might try it out on my daughters clio   Only her grille though.

I still maintain that they're all flashy teachers that can't get away from the old-style blackboards

They have other colors...
Only available in US
The whole kit cost under 180 GBP.
A wrap is like what ??? 1500 GBP+?
It peels right off if you dont like it.
I think I might be the UK guinea pig for this. I can get it here really easy.

This link isn't to show off matt black cars, it's to show a cheaper alternative to wrapping.

So can this process achieve the same gloss finish as a traditional trip to the paint shop?

Apparently mate, similar to wrapping you can get a proper gloss finish.

I'd worry about what a stone chip would do for light knocking on the body work.

Very clever............ the guy in the vid makes it look very easy. You just know if you were doing that yourself as you pull the masking tape off there would be a fark up!

I must admit I like the idea of Plasti dipping alloys. Apart from changing the look I would have thought it would make great winter protection. The ED35 alloys would be good for this.

Thats a great idea for wheels, I still worry about how long it would last on the wheels.

I would be worried if it peels off that easy if its not covering the entire wheel then it would start peeling away very easily.

Looks like a waste of time to me it isnt going help if you kerb them. If you want some winters just get some steel or cheap reps when weight isnt as important and you are not going to worry about being damaged by salt or sliding against a kerb if you are unlucky.

My view is that where I live there is only snow on the ground for less than a week and there are no large hills that isnt enough to justify another set of wheels and tyres. My last MK6 with Monza Shadows and Dunlop Sport Maxx worked ok down to -9c last winter (I was driving very slowly). If I kerb a wheel well I will just get it refurbished at £100 a time.
