Hi
New Gti currently at the port in Germany awaiting shipment.
Is the car likely to have Bridgestones tyres or Dunplops ?
-
Fingers crossed its not the dunlops, not the best tyre.
-
i think it depends on the particular shipment, my last 2 vw's came with continental (sucked BIG time) and pirelli (sucked even BIGGER time). Now running on Michelin Pilot Sport III, splendit...
-
Going by what i've read on here i'd say the majority get Dunlops (myself included ) but a lot of guys got Bridgestones, i think it's just the luck of the draw tbh?! Even though both tyres are crap!
-
I got Bridgestones when I got my car 3 years ago this month, still running them as the car has only done 15500 miles and 6 months are spent on Conintental Winters TS830p which are brilliant.
-
i got bridgestones on mine
july/august 2011 build 18" wheels
guess a lot comes down to what wheel size you chose swell. a lot of 17" seem to be dunlops

Mine are 18's with Dunlops.
-
I have Dunlops on mine as well. will prob change them the goodyear asymmetrics afterwards tho!

Bridgestones on mine.
-
I got bridges on mine March 2012...
-
Dunlops on a May 2010 car with 18" wheels
-
I would prefer the Dunlop sh*t max to the Bridgestone's as there just to noisy

I currently have Dunplops on my mk6 GT and the biggest problem with them is the road noise..........
I was hoping that if I get the new car with Bridgestones then tyre/road noise would not be so much of a problem
-
Picked up mine 4 weeks ago with 18" monzas and got bridgestone's on it.
-
Bridgestones are poor tyres. I would get rid as soon as possible and you may even get some money for them on ebay. If I had the dunlops I would just burn them, they are that bad
Tyres make a massive difference to how the car drives
-
If I had money to burn then I'd get rid of the Bridgestones straightaway
-
Dunlops on both mine '60plate 17's and my dads '59 18s.
Not the worst tyres I've driven other than road noise is worse
-
What tyres have people been getting with the 19' Glendales?
Waiting on my Edi 35 at the moment, think its now in Emden and hadn't really given a thought to tyres until now. Had Conti SC 3's on my Edition 30 which have been fine. By the sounds of it, people none to happy with the Dunlops?!?
-
still will be Dunlops or Bridges i reckon
my GTI has dunlops on 18s , yep they are noisy alright!

I have Pirelli PZero on the Glendales and these are great, having the 19" over the 18" makes a huge difference in turn in and the front end feels much more planted. Can be a bit noisey on concrete roads (however dont know of any tyre which isnt) but apart from that I really like them in both dry and wet, no issues with grip
I had Michelin Pilot Sport 2 on my ED30 which were excellent all round and Dunlop Sport Maxx on my MK6 with 18" and I have no complaints about these for the 2.5 years I had the MK6 but not as good as the Michelin or Pirelli's but I would not say they were bad.

Not glendale's but had dunlops fitted on my 19" talladega's.
Took them straight off and sold them on the R forum.
Replaced them with Goodyear F1 asymmetric 2's for a little bit more, miles better!

I've got Brigestones on mine.
14k done and just had a service. 7mm on the Rear, 5mm on the font. They are wearing well!
-
Conti sport 3 on my ED30. Great step up from the Vred ultrac sesanta that were on before.
-
Bridgestone on mine, I had the RE050a's on the clio and I found them quite a good tyre, not the best grip overall but quite hard wearing.
