Very good idea.
-
yep good idea
-
agreed!! much eisier!
-
Wonder what spin cycle they are?
-
Will make decent stickier tyres go up in price though, as most of Joe Public will want harder compound that are gonna last the longest. Manufacturers will put the price of softer compound tyres up to break even on their costs........... :undecided:
-
Neah, if they're selling more hard compound tyres they won't need to put up other prices.
If it results in people generally buying better tyres then it's a good thing overall. Remember other people having better tyres in a good thing for you as well.
-
i have to agree this is a good idea i wonder what kind of rating linglongs will get
-
Really good idea, saves me reading though hundreds of reviews on what tires to buy next, as misses prefers good stopping tires in the wet, I prefer good dry tires.
-
Great idea.... until some starts to print their own labels :lipsrsealed:
-
yeah thats a good one to have so many micky mouse tyres out there I wish dot dates were more clear no point in buying tyres that will crack after six months
-
I do get a bit tired with all the choice, so such a system will help us tread carefully. Though the cost of this may make the tyre price inflate. Discussions on this with the EU could go round in circles.

But discussions with the EU will come skidding to a halt when they can't decide on the colour scheme...
And Halfords will sell aftermarket touch up paint so we can colour code our tyre stickers to our cars...

^^
I thinks it's a good thing, give you more choice and more of an idea rather than a gazillion Joe Blogs reviews.
-
Problem,s are that the label,s are self cert ,, so indian made wanli can make an A grade tyre an joe bloggs in his mondeo will think its the badgers :)
Second the wet grip,,,,Ok so where is the dry grip rating ? Also the road noise is external so makes absolutly no difference to you as a driver ,,good idea, applied badly !
-
Road noise is the last thing I think about when buying tyres. If they grip well n last I don't care how loud they are from the outside!
Good idea tho for the daily driver who doesn't know feck all about cars
