I don't think the base spec cars have the extra wiring.
-
Yeah I remember someone putting a loom in for them. The loom is plug and play though.
-
Most of the higher spec looms are tbf.
-
i have all electrics including electric sunroof in my gti but no fog lights. it had standered blanks instead. would i have the fog wiring?
-
None of the lower spec cars have the wiring for the electric windows, its not hard to wire them in and its all plug and play.

No you will need a headlight loom from a GTI spec car, very easy to change though.

Managed to find some info on retro fitting , anyone selling the necessaries to fit electric windows to a 3door 1995/6

my car is a gti
Sorry a late spec GTI or VR6
-
Not all GTI's (even the late ones) came with front foglights for some odd reason, my last 97 8v didn't. Doddle to fit though.

What looms are needed? I have the motors but never fitted cause i was told it was a nightmare, i have a 5door currently with aftermarket fronts and keep fit rears
-
Car loom goes from fusebox to both A pillars then runs down the passengers side of the car to the central locking pump in the boot.
5dr cars have extra wiring to the B pillars for the rear windows.
Early and late cars have different looms.
-
what bits of the dash need to come out in order to get the looms out for the electric window bits . mainly the one that runs in the middle (3dr)

I have had to 1.8 se one 96 and the other 97 and both had it in if you look at the spec of the se it's pretty much the same as the GTI:
Drivers adjustable Seat
Trim
Silver dials
Electric windows so on
The only difference I found was it is a SPI and a 1.8
-
You've forgotten suspension, anti-roll bars, brakes, exhaust system, Wheels.
Standard GTI's didn't come with silver clocks like the SE, only the Anniversary models.
Did SE's come with tinted glass?
-
Green glass...
-
Same then.

So your saying the looms may be there ? I'll have a door card off to check or is there a better
Way to check ?

They will not be there......
To get the loom out things I remove are, lower dash trim, glovebox, clocks, centre console.
