I have yellow tinted fogs and they passed mot fine, i'd like to tint the headlights too but i'm told you can't do that in the uk.

I think it depends on how much light it stops from been emitted from the headlights. I did read quite recently that in the latest MOT revisions that nothing was permitted to be attached to the headlights but mine just passed it's test with gunsmoke Lamin-X on them.

they test illumination, so as long as its bright enough and not changing the colour you will be ok.

fogs will be ok yellow I should think.

The MOT tester's manual (http://mottesters.co.uk/files/special%20notices/MOT%20Inspection%20Manual.pdf) says this:
Quote
5.  An obligatory headlamp:
a. inoperative, excessively damaged or
deteriorated or has a product on the lens or
light source so that the light output is well
below that required to illuminate the road
ahead

So I guess a moderate tint wouldn't fall below the limit.

Now see i really like that, it's not everyones taste but i've always thought old french motors look so cool with their yellow lights.

6% headlight lamin-x tint

Dont forget standard headlight bulbs are sh!t so at least fit brighter ones to compensate for the reduced output
