Has anyone got any knowledge/advice on a 1.8T valvetrain?
Going to be supertech-ing mine when theres a spare wedge of cash going.
Does anyone know the difference/ advantages/disadvantages of going single groove keeper over triple groove?
Any other advice really

Single groove keepers, as it sounds, only have a single groove as opposed to the 3 grooves of the stock set-up. The advantage is that with the single groove the keepers grip the entire circumference of the stem which is much stronger and places less stress on the valve. I really recommend them when exceeding 8000 rpm. You cannot make a 3 groove valve into a single groove one.
Oversize valves are an advantage only when the valve job, and porting is designed to take advantage of them. It is sometimes difficult to get an oversized valve in these heads due to the core shift.
The single groove valves are actually the same price as 3 groove ones, you juts have to buy the keepers to fit. I'm not sure I'd rely on luck to keep an engine together at 9500rpm.

True. Would be silly not to uprate them to titanium keepers for a extra £120. Only £6 each!

Ive heard the single ones will wear out the guides faster than the triple? Due to the single not allowing the valve to rotate.
Anyone any more advice?

LOL Av u seen dem single n triple groove retainers its da same design as single n it still can rotate n who been sayin not rotating wears dem sooner its not like no body use dem deres been zillions of 1.8t owners usin dem for yearssss jebus! wat do you think badger 5 n every big power 1.8t people run

Its to do with how the retainer and keeper grip the valve. I believe with 3 groove the retainers dont fully grip the valve which allow the valve to freely rotate. Whereas a single keeper locks tight onto the valve and prevents if from rotating round. Single is much better for higher RPM?

3 grooves don't fully grip it? Den it would be falling into your piston rofl :shocked: standard valves aint held in place by luck lol wat ur thinkin of is machined tolerances not 1 or 3 groove design u can av a really tight 3 groove design like u can also get loose 3 groove :laugh:
