Any ideas guys?Ive tried several other motors and they didnt work either.Checked all my fuses and there fine.
-
If all motors are ok and all fuses are fine, then it will be the stalk.
-
Its strange because the screenwash i can still spray out but the wiper wont work with it.
-
Best option is to take it off ;-)

Having the exact same problem checked the motor manually and it works, fuses and relay working as well.
Rear water pump works and front wipers as well when stalk is pushed backwards,is this correct?
Are both wipers supposed to work at the same time along with the waterpump?
Should I try buying a new stalk?
Anyone else have the same problem and fixed by replacing the stalk?

Had this on a mk4 today, check the wiring from roof to tailgate ,the bit inside the flexible rubber sleave ,wires had broken.

Checked the wiring this morning and its all good,no damaged wiring to be seen.So this is still a head scratcher for me,unless it is the control stalk thats faulty.
-
I changed my stalk, now the MFA don't work
Still at least the wiper works.....
-
I checked the wires in the rubber all good.
VWBush is your problem the same, and what is a MFA?
-
MFA is the button on the end of the stalk that cycles through your mpg,oil temp, weather temp, average speed etc etc.

So i take it that it is the control stalk thats the problem and that you was just unlucky to pick one up that had a faulty mfa?
-
Just bought a new stalk,I guess for nothing cause it still is not working.
Why is it that when I push the lever back washer works but the front wipers come on instead ?
-
try the relay.. take it out and put it back in...do same with fuses for rear wiper, may just work! mot should not be a concern so you should be ok...
-
Turned out that my relay had come out and just needed pushing back in.

I have the exact same problem
-
The rear washer uses the same motor as the front washer, it just goes in reverse for the back, so it has nothing to do with the rear wiper.
Found the problem the plug at the tail light that connects to the tailgate loom was disconnected :undecided:
