I bought a golf gti last month 1.8 (180) and first few weeks of owning it I thought it was pretty quick!
Now it just doesn't seem to accelerate as fast. there is a different feel to the accelerator pedal and there doesn't seem to be so much of a delay with the turbo. My Dad has drove it and he reckons the car is fine, but having driven it myself the whole time I'm sure something is up. don't get me wrong it's not exactly slow
now, but doesn't seem the same. any ideas? cheers if anyone could help!

Get it scanned and see if anything comes up. Also, clean your throttle body and see if it helps. It's pretty much free to do, and you'd be surprised at the difference it will make to your car, especially if it's never been cleaned before. I'd also be looking for boost leaks, there's a good few hoses that are prone to splitting.

I had this problem once in my Meon Cupra, turned out it was caused by the floor mat behind the pedal not allowing full open throttle .
