Post by: jnufcuk on 27 June 2012, 19:12
Anyone know what HE means on the climatronic?

Turn car on, temp comes up and cant adjust fans, after a minute or two temp disappears and HE come up then I can adjust fan speed?

Any ideas  :undecided:

Could be a faulty panel, see if you can get and try another one.

Bloody climatronic on this mk3, works for about a week then goes tits up

Wouldn't mind if they were easy to get hold off.

Think I might have a spare panel will have a look and try. So frustrating. Great when it's working, pain in the a$$ when it's not

On the mk4 they have a self test mode, not sure if the mk3 is the same.

All very helpful answers

Tried a different panel and did the same thing. Only way you can turn fan speed down/ up is by putting heat up to full then HE appears. Could it need regassing? :undecided:

Would a blown fuse stop the whole thing from working?

From what Ive just on a couple of different forums it could be worth checking out relay 140 as these can bring up fault codes when duff.

Could it need regassing? :undecided:

Even if it was out of gas, the control panel should still work as normal.

Sorted

Recently I had problem with alarm so swapped a fuse over from the rear wiper and never replaced it. Turns out putting a fuse back in some how fixed the climatronic lol

 :embarassed:

Least it's fixed. Thanks guys
