You don't need a new wheel, just the mfsw kit, and someone with Vagcom to code it.

As said above, approach your dealer or eBay or perhaps visit www.mk5golfgti.co.uk in the parts for sale sections

I've spoken to Awsome GTI and VW dealer (Crewe). Both said i'll need the steering wheel with the controls built in because there aren't any holes apparently.  :undecided:

If you fancy splashing a bit of the cash you could always "upgrade" to the MK6 wheel

So you can get the functions on a mfsw by just buying a kit ? Don't you need a different cluster ?
Would be interested if it doesn't require a change of cluster. What functions would you get without changing the cluster ?

I was thinking about the MK6 wheel plus upgrading to the RNS 510 stereo, but I wouldn't want half of the buttons not working might feel like a bit of a tit. Also would quite like it to keep the look of classic MK5. Modern Classic I believe.  :smug:

IMO the MK6 wheel fits in perfectly with the MK5. Both cars are VERY similar. Im looking and changing wheels as mine has started to peel really bad so its a great excise to get a MK6 one.

Wont bother with a MFSW though as Ive got an aftermarket system so there would be no point like you say.
