Title: Vac takeoffs
Post by: Dalo Harkin on 26 June 2012, 19:50
Hi all,

Right on my ARZ there are 3 VAC takeoffs:-
2 on the right side of the plenum and 1 on the throttle body.... now the 2 on the plenum, one is connected to the FPR and the other I run to a T piece and one off the T goes to the 007p and the other off the T goes to my boost gauge.
The one on the throttle body I have blocked off...
Now the throttle body one, did as of yesterday go to the boost gauge (I have done the carbon canister delete about a month ago)
Since yesterday when I blocked the TB one off and ran the boost gauge to the T piece boost has massively increased which led me to believe the piece of tubing I ran from the TB to the boost gauge must have been leaking...

Which has now made me think, is it better to just block one of the others off the plenum and have all boost pipes going to just the 1 source or is this a bad idea? I just want to have as little tubing in the bay as possible and be able to check if there is a boost leak easily, which having one vac source as opposed to 2 or 3 would do, unless there is a reason there are the 3 so it won't go KA BOOOOOOM....

Hope this makes sense

Cheers

I wouldn't as if you got a Leak on the vacuum which is on the fpr then you will run lean resulting in "KA BOOOOOM"

As long as I am ok with running just the 2 that's fine.
runs spot on and bay is much neater
