Title: timing cover- metal to plastic

hello
i thought of changing the metal timing cover to the plastic one because it makes it easier to do the timing and can be removed without disturbing the rocker cover gasket.
do i need to change also the back plate, and does it require removing the sprockets?

Start stripping all front brackets water pump every thing then you might see hidden bolts matting that tiny piece of metal that always rusted itself onto bolts  :lipsrsealed:

Simply Dont bother its a Pain in the arse! if you have a oil leak on the cam sprocket you will need to strip all of it back anyways! I'm just saying if you dont need to do anything then don't do it as I'm sure some bolts might round or shear?
I didnt understand why you wanted to do it in the first place? Unless there was an oil leak and you needed to remove an oil seal on one of the sprockets  :wink:
