Title: Bent track rod OS

Had a harsh knock into a curb and the drivers side track rod is bent :(

Can anyone advise how you can remove it? I can see a ball joint type fitting. Is it as i fear and the whole steering mech needs to be removed?

Undo lower bolt, then the actual rod end will come out of the hub, you will need to lever it out as it will be stuck tight

i use a hammer and wack the hub part (not the track rod end) it will jolt it free

then u need to back off the locking nut on the threaded bar, once this is backed off you can remove the rod end.

to remove the whole rod, you need to remove the bbot, theirs a further bolt to remove on the inner rod and this will release the outer rod

not hard to do

Worth mentioning you will have to remove the rubber boot to get to the inner rod bolt, its a taffy job, you will need some zip ties to re install, or just replace  the boots with new ones.. they are about £10 for the pair at Euro car parts
