Whaaaat?? ok the awarenes course for a bit of speeding but dosing off and nearly killing someone?? Should be a ban at least!

Would have been a different story if someone had been injured. Sounds far to lenient to me

Police said if she accepts the course it means she accepts full responsibility for the accident !!
Was 4 witnesses and a off duty copper as a witness and she admitted at the scene she had fallen asleep,
Don't you just love the British justice system

If he hadn't swerved off the road it would of been a head on collision and both traveling about 60mph
Would of been fatal no doubt cos she wouldn't of braked as she was asleep

+1!!!!
At least everyone was ok.

Uffff! that looks nasty - glad your guy (and sleepy head) are OK and also glad it wasn't the GTI Neil!
-
That looks nasty Neil, glad all involved was ok tho...
Back in my moped days I was riding along minding my own business as you do lol and a fella decided to come across my right of way and nocked me clean off, my back went into his windscreen, moped in pieces ect and all he got was a drivers awareness course
Still to this day I remember his name....

Bit of an update, insurance assessor been down to value the vehicle and assess the damage, it's classified as a Cat D and he said it will be back on the road in a couple of months,
Not back to me tho as the payments I have made and the value of the vehicle clears the finance,
So a new shape Crafter with 143Bhp is on route and VW paying £1k deposit
The old Crafter only had 103Bhp and push bikes use to leave it standing at the lights
New Model has a smaller 2ltr engine, more powerful and 30% better on juice, result
So all in all everything has turned out ok.
-
Glad this has worked out ok and hope sleepy head has learned a lesson.

I wondered how it ended up in a field nowhere near a road. Glad there's a positive to pull from it all.
With regards to the driver awareness course...I'm sure she was quite aware she was tired and driving so that's not going to help.
Maybe murders will just get a telling off if they own up soon?! I got 6 points just for speeding a few years ago and a fine, even though I was in full control.

Good to here there's been a positive out come to this Neil...
Sounds like a great result!(http://www.websmileys.com/sm/fingers/fing32.gif)
