Hi got a mk4 gti 1.8 20v non turbo.only had it a few days and dont know much about the car.ive got a starting fault which seems to only happen when the engine is hot.leave car for half an hour to cool down and starts 1st turn of the key and runs fine.take it for a drive again get up to temp,turn it off and try again and the engine just turns over but wont start,immob light goes out and you can here the fuel pump.is there a common fault ??? can anyone help plz

coolant sensor or crank sensor probably. you need vagcom or similar to tell for sure

Almost certainly a coolant temp sensor, my V70 was behaving just the same, it through up a coolant related code, new sensor and brum!

+1 i have the same, hoping its the coolant cause its cheeper :D
