I just wonder how much he has spent on replacing parts before they fail. If that's the case then the engine must be brand spanking new!

as long as the block, head, pistons and crank are all original then that's good going. a friends 1.8t mk4 is approaching 260000 miles on it's original engine and turbo with nothing major replaced.
