Title: Smoothing rear rub strips and anni valance
Post by: CM690 on 21 June 2012, 10:22
I want to go for this look

and me and my dad were going to smooth it when my car was going in for its respray but my dad suggested filling it with fiberglass filler and then normal filler but then said it would probably crack too easily and he simply didn't have the time to do it anyway as I was pushing it for a free respray as it was

I thought about plastic welding the rub strips but how would I go about this really? what section could I cut out of a bumper to plastic weld into the gaps? Anyone done this?

cheers

been done a few times mate you need another rear bumper to cut out the section just below the rub strips and then plastic weld them into the one you want to smooth

I also heard somewhere that you can buy replica bumpers that are already smoothed from German eBay?

lmfao

personal opinion about the smooth and air thing but if you going get it done then it has to be done properly, no spoiler, bump strips smoothed, door trim smoothed, us front bumper strip, rear us bumper, anni valance smoothed in, desiel anni rear valance smoothed in & wing indicators smoothed.
