Hi all,
I found a sticker on the bottom part of the chassis frame when I opened the drivers door on my '09 GTI Pirelli, it says:
Engine: 2L
Power: 220 ps
Petrol
I was wondering if anyone knows why the power is rated as 220 ps and not 229? as this means that bhp is 217 rather than the 226 which it should be.
Any ideas???? :undecided:

I have also just converted ps into hp and you are correct,it's about 217 hp, strange one, have a look in your log book,it will have the engine output there also.
-
Think you may be right Andy, have found out that some Mk6 GTI's also have the same sticker when they should say 210ps. Says 169 KW on sticker in boot and manual which works out correct

I had one on my ED30 that said 130ps !
Get you local VW dealer to find you the correct one , its a little grey one about 1" square , it just peels off.

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about and haven't lost any horses!

could be in relation to the fuel you use. i.e. 95ron = 217bhp, 99ron = 227bhp :nerd:

Lol! Think you may be right about the 95 RON! Only use V-power; find economy also improves by 2-3 mpg! :nerd:
