Just about to buy a road bike, and I have the choice of 53cm, 56cm and 59cm frame sizes. Going by this website I require a 56cm sized frame
http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-tools/frame-sizer/road-bike/size-sheet?utf8=%E2%9C%93&u=in&r=man&h=1803.4&i=825.5&b=Calculate (http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-tools/frame-sizer/road-bike/size-sheet?utf8=%E2%9C%93&u=in&r=man&h=1803.4&i=825.5&b=Calculate)
However according to this http://bicycling.about.com/od/howtoride/a/bike_sizing.htm (http://bicycling.about.com/od/howtoride/a/bike_sizing.htm) I require the 59cm.
So which one is it?
5, 11"
Leg length 32"

Im the same size as you and I ride both

Checked a 3rd website and it said 56cm, so will go for 56 size as I prefer my bike slightly bigger, for a longer stroke.

It's alright, 56cm is the size that keeps popping up the most.

Went for this one. Not wanted to spend any more than £200 and after reading reviews it seems it's a decent bike for the money and for the type of use I'm going to give it.

It is a shame they do not show the top tube length etc, you may need a 53cm, 56cm is very big for a road bike.

I'm 6' 2", I ride an XL or 58cm, 59cm would have been far too big for you can you'd have probably struggle to standover the frame.
The larger frame would also have probably come with 175mm cranks, given you height and shorter legs these would have been slightly too large and potentially caused knee pain, your 56 should come with 172.5mm cranks.
If anything you'll probably want to adjust the stem as this will probably be too short for you, although will produce a slightly more relaxed riding position as a result.
