Welcome the tester in to your car as if it was your Mum in your house. Tidy with a nice air freshener perhaps. Make it a nice place to be and he will be nice in return.
I can't see from your build thread if it has coilies but wind them up if it does. It will piss him off if he has to find planks of wood to get it on the rollers.
Be aware of the new rules. There is a bunch of stuff it can fail on this year that it was fine for (or got an advisory for) in previous years. Most of them won't apply to you.

Those that will include:
A driver's seat that is adjustable and locks in place.
The presence of a cat if it was originally fitted.
Main beam warning light.
Steering lock if fitted as standard (WTF has that got to do with road worthiness?)
Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light's intensity - there could be a discussion about your dark indicators on this?
Insecure battery.
Speedo must illuminate.
Damaged or chafed fuel pipes.

On that point I would point out to the guy that these are made by Hella (Side ones anyway) and are still made by Hella in the EU so should pass without any issues.. (I have a copy of the 2012 Hella Cat in front of me now!!)

Interesting the side repeaters I've got replacements the front indicators are dark but glow orange will have to see!
The coilies are a pain I've wound them up quite far but guess I can raise them a bit more?
Wipers and washers worked first thing I did was the washers they were missing LOL!
The steering locks in the dead straight position this was due to the whole front suspension arms being changed out!
I plan on getting it tracked just before its goes for MOT hoping it not too out.
Is there any rules the distance of MOT station as my mates garage is about 20 miles away?
I'll have insurance no TAX but will have a letter from the MOT to say on that date I'll be attending? Its the distance issues I have though its in Battersea Bridge so loads of cameras will be snapping me without TAX.
-
Just book it in with your buddy make sure he loggs it in his mot dairy and you can cruise there fully legal! The rules on distance are super vague but 20 miles is fine, I winged 60 bringing my golf home!!!!! It only illegal if you get caught
-
I thought it had to go to the NEAREST MOT station....
But I've also expanded this law as far as I can - in the past!!
-
Nope, check it doesn't mention nearest or local just that you must drive straight there and back. Nearest is vague nearest to where?
-
it is within a REASONABLE distance :lipsrsealed:
driving a car from Leeds down to Oxfordshire ISNT REASONABLE
