Title: Build date received! - HERE SHE IS :-D
Post by: Markey1234 on 20 June 2012, 13:25
Hey all...

I've had a phone call today and have been told my GTD has a scheduled build date of mid September. Based on experience... How long from this date should I expect delivery?

:-) one happy bunny!

Cheers

Ahh my bad, shoud have had a gander first. Excitement got the better of me :)

It's through Lex Autolease, they gave me a 6 digit order number, would this be a VW issued number that I could use to track the progress?

Chris

So Lex gave me a estimated build date of mid September which I have been pretty gutted with as i hate waiting for new toys plus in in USA from 13th sept for 3 weeks. The timing couldn't have been any better...:(

Anyway, i called VW today to be told my GTD is going for build week commencing 9th July so I've to expect delivery sometime early to mid August, shipping dates etc having the ultimate say on this.

To say I'm happy is the understatement of the year!!!!

Seems as though any Golf's that have been ordered recently are being pushed on a bit.

Also, I think this thread should have been posted in the MK6 section, could someone move it there please?

Thanks :-)

As we tend to get our warm days later rather than sooner on in the year you might still get a few week of sunshine if everything goes according to plan..

Nice one!

Checked on the vw track my order page and my vehicle is listed as "In Transit" - anyone any idea approx I have to wait now?

I was given a build date on week commencing 9th July (this week) so that's been a pretty quick build and despatch.

One happy camper woooohoooooooooo

I'll bet the excitement's bursting over...do you have a pickup date?!
Title: Re: Build date received! - Now in transit...
Post by: Markey1234 on 23 July 2012, 17:23
Not yet. It's a company car ordered through lex auto, so lex will deliver it by transporter to my front door once the dealer is finished what they're doing (they offered colleagues the option of having someone drive theirs up or wait a few more days and have it delivered on a truck) I think I'll wait the few days extra. Don't fancy my nice new car turning up with a big stone chip smiling at me.

The car has arrived in Volkswagen Greenock which is 15mins drive from me. They say the registration pack has arrived so they will have it done today, clear it off with Lex Autolease and let me know when I can collect. Hopefully tomorrow.

:-)

I think a wee visit to the showroom is in order today for a look!

Edit: just took a phone call. Car can be collected today at 2.30 or tomorrow at 2pm. Tomorrow it is (need to return my existing car is a decent state to the power washer will be out tonight)

I know, it was tough but it's a company car I have so no doubt it will be used as a pool car now I am finished with it so just gave it a good clean, hoovered it, polished etc. it's been left how I would like to find it if it was me taking the keys :-)

I'll get some photos up of the old and more importantly the new as soon as I get them :-)

Bed early tonight!!

So picked her up today. Ohh my what a car. I had the A3 version a few years back but this totally top trumps it. The DSG is sublime! Still to open her up fully, I'll let her bet in over the next few days before I start giving it some juice.

Pics to follow as soon as I suss out how to upload...

Ps, the side door compartments are huge!!! :-D  I'm in love.
