Post by: CarlGallagher on 20 June 2012, 11:08
Hello again,

Any advice be great.

I have a red flashiong oil light on car at start up (after about 30 seconds) it normally stays on for about 5  mins then goes off, some times times comes back on. when it comes on theres 3 loud beeps

Had this problem about 2 weeks ago booked car in for full major service and replace oil pick up pipe but after 2 days started same problems again. any ideas what the problem could be?

1999 Golf GTI 1.8t AGU

thanks in advance

check by hand i did mine came off on the oil breather housing by the oil filter its behind a rubber nipple so dont look like theres anything there i think there are some around the sump to oil level sensor they may have messed it up if you say they have done the pickup pipe thats where i would look first

May be worth getting your oil pressure checked that will soon confirm a sensor problem.
