Can anyone enlighten me as to what this actually does?
-
Makes the bay look neater and frees up a vac source
-
No advantage to me then
Thanks
-
They can tick (very annoyingly so I am told) mine never did, just wanted to neaten the bay hence all the deletes in my sig
-
Haha yeah i see
Well take it mine doesnt click then so no need to destroy it just yet
-
Mine ticks so I wouldn't say no to throwing it out! Any disadvantages to deleting it?
-
have a read through this may say in there

Cheers Clully, I'll have a look at it now.

Let us know when you find out the pros and cons to make it easy for me to decide to do it or not!!!

VW tried to charge me £95 because I had a snapped 'nipple' on my carbon canister. Daylight robbery
-
-
sounds like vw robbing cnuts
-
made me  probably snapped it off themselves. Good job I've got midland VW by me these days!
-
My AGU idled like a slag with the delete lol it didn't like it at all
-
did you have a resistor in ?
-
Was all in , it just kept dropping the revs. Badly
-
mine was idling all over the place when i had a split boost pipe since replacing it its spot on
-
Well I change mine back to the canister in and it was peeerfect
-
result then
-
just gotta get my actuator sorted lol
-
Whats up with your actuator?
-
its unbelievebly weak see my dump valve thread
-
Why dont you do what I did as a temporary measure.
10mm spanner twist the actuator nut 1 full turn to the closed position and see if it holds boost better?
I cant see it doing damage aslong as you dont take the P**s and keep turning it.
-
i did turn it by 1/4 but didnt wanna push it suppose a few more turns couldnt hurt right ??
-
ill try a few more turns then
-
AGU - deleted canister - ran mint and no issues at all.
Only there to re-circ the vapours off the petrol tank. Nothing wrong with venting to atmosphere.
Get it ripped out.
-
Whats the pro's of it, I'm guessing petrol fumes are low octane numbers therefore it reduces performance to a tiny degree?

are they supposed to make that annoying ticking noise? and is this the charcaol filter thing u guys are talkin bout?
-
yes and yes
-
so making the ticking noise means its working or...?
-
im sure that said yes above
as far as i know dude its meant to tick if its ticking its working i think
-
I thought when it ticks it's time to spend more money on it?!!! :lipsrsealed:

Nope your getting that mixed up wit the petrol light and all the other lights that light up on your dash, thats usually when I go ahhh fack wallet time, AGAIN!
-
who has this on their agu ?? cause i wanna know why my dont like this mod
-
Iv done this on the weekend and all good so far on my AGU.
No more annoying ticking sound and my bay looks abit better with less pipework :smug:
-
how did you do it??
-
Remove the canistor then rip the pipework out from the canister, inlet manifold and turbo intake pipe. (Block turbo intake and inlet)
Vent the pipe from the fuel tank out in the wheel arch.
I then took the connector from the cannister and kept it plugged in but stripped the inside of the connector to stop the ticking noise, I then cable tied this under the plastic scuttle panel along the windscreen. This is a small round connector that sits on top of the canister itself. (please note I did not cable tie the whole cannister ONLY the small round connector)
Ideally I should buy a resistor for a couple of quid and use that but hey ho I fooled the euc anyways.
Hope that makes sence and my AGU is running perfect and cant smell anything when stuck in rush hour either so win win all round.

hmmm ill try again
