Why dont you do what I did as a temporary measure.

10mm spanner twist the actuator nut 1 full turn to the closed position and see if it holds boost better?

I cant see it doing damage aslong as you dont take the P**s and keep turning it.

i did turn it by 1/4 but didnt wanna push it suppose a few more turns couldnt hurt right ??

AGU - deleted canister - ran mint and no issues at all.

Only there to re-circ the vapours off the petrol tank.  Nothing wrong with venting to atmosphere.
Get it ripped out.

Whats the pro's of it, I'm guessing petrol fumes are low octane numbers therefore it reduces performance to a tiny degree?

Post by: jamie1989 on 26 June 2012, 12:02
Iv done this on the weekend and all good so far on my AGU.
No more annoying ticking sound and my bay looks abit better with less pipework  :smug:
Title: Re: Advantages on Carbon Canister delete?
Post by: GTIcheeseman on 26 June 2012, 12:03
how did you do it??
Title: Re: Advantages on Carbon Canister delete?
Post by: jamie1989 on 26 June 2012, 12:20
Remove the canistor then rip the pipework out from the canister, inlet manifold and turbo intake pipe. (Block turbo intake and inlet)
Vent the pipe from the fuel tank out in the wheel arch.

I then took the connector from the cannister and kept it plugged in but stripped the inside of the connector to stop the ticking noise, I then cable tied this under the plastic scuttle panel along the windscreen. This is a small round connector that sits on top of the canister itself. (please note I did not cable tie the whole cannister ONLY the small round connector)

Ideally I should buy a resistor for a couple of quid and use that but hey ho I fooled the euc anyways.

Hope that makes sence and my AGU is running perfect and cant smell anything when stuck in rush hour either so win win all round.
