Iv not been searching long, but its proving to be tricky already.
Iv removed the rear wiper assy and tried to fit a plastic cap from hardwear store in the hole left, but it seems to be just-shy of 25mil, so my 25mil cap just wont pop in!
Plan is to colour code it and seal it in place.
Any ideas people? Its an S reg estate.
Cheers

Halfords sell a grommet pack that contains the correct size. If you wanted to use your hard cap why don't you open up the hole slightly before sealing it in?
-
As already said. Halfords do a pack with a few in and it's the 24mm one you need. It's the biggest on in the pack.
-
Halfords it is then,
Problem solved.
I knewyou guys would solve this in second. Big Thanks. X

wish someone told me halfords, I went to all the hardware stores and finally got one from wicks lol.

Not to put a downer on this, but do u realise how easy it is to pop the boot open with just a grommet there? Really you need to weld a plate in otherwise it's an easy open for a golf thief.
-
would love to see somebody try on mine. lol my proximity sensor will warn them off as soon as they touch the car

It is dead easy from the threads I have read
-
it does make life easy...... however, any car with slim jims is only 30 secs longer to get into without damage anyways.......

Use a cable gland blanking plug, they come in plastic, plated brass and SS.
They also screw into a half nut so more secure than a grommet...

Or glue razor blades to the inside of the hole
-
lol stainsy, good idea but alas, razor blades dont hurt wire coat hangers,,,,,

ah yeah that is very true
in that case some sort of live electic circuit for a nice shock.
or a little device that sprays pepper spray out of the hole as soon as the grommet is removed

Halfords 3pack 24mil plug worked a treat, i painted that and the b adge red, then left themin the sun all day. They look great.
Hopefully no thieving toe rag will click-on and try to get in.
Theyre is a red sticker in the window saying, 'i love my alapaha blue blood bull dog'
So hopefully that'll act as some kind of deterant.
Cheers peeps, happy dubbing
