Please help!
I have a MK2 GTI 16v
When im accelerating hard and it gets to 3700-4000 RPM in 3rd gear or over the car suddenly revs wildly all the way up the rev range but puts no power down asif the clutch has just been engaged.
It does not do this all the time, some days it is fine. If i let it climb up the rev range steadily say half throttle then its fine but foot to the floor on its bad days and it has this problem everytime.
I replaced the clutch about 2 months ago as it had started doing this sometimes and i assumed it was the clutch slipping therefore i had the clutch replaced and it seemed to cure the problem.
Someone suggested to me that it could be possible that the clutch has failed again???

If your main crank seal or gearbox input shaft seal has gone, it couldve contaminated the new clutch giving you the same problem again. Was the bell housing oily, or were the seals replaced?

Adjust your clutch cable.
If you haven't burnt the friction disc up already.
