Hey all
Basically I'm resetting the actuator back to stock after some pollock messed with it and I've noticed it only over boosts under full load or throttle. So maybe the max setting of boost isn't actually where the stop screw should be stopping the vnt arm? The actuator will just allow me to have boost earlier in the revs too has it only starts to move at about -10 and finishes about -20
How do I adjust stop screw?? Trying it in the morning cheers !!!

Do you have vagcom? You can test it by logging blocks 3/8/11. That is about all I can remember as I'v had a bottle of wine. Something about a wanting your N75 duty cycle to be about at 80 @ about 4k revs. If you have vagcom you can obv log this when you adjust your rod length each time to check weather it is set up correctly.

Cheers mate it's fine until max boost is requested when I'm being heavy footed or it's under load hence me thinking it needs the stop screw setting. The Pollocks who adjusted the actuator to retard boost only seem to affect the lag at the start not the boost amount

WTF? He sounds like a idiot. It still mentions the stop screw in that link I think :undecided:...

By stop screw I mean the point on the turbo which the VNT arm hits to specify full boost (as in will not move any further)
An update..
Set the actuator to the factory paint setting.
I'll put the log up in a bit, not sure if what I've done is right but its still overboosting, earlier too (as expected, maximum boost is reached much quicker)
It seems to be overboosting not just on WOT, but also just normal driving, 100mbar out kinda thing.
Testing with a vacuum tool, it now starts moving about 3-4 vacuum and hits the stop about 16-18.

100mbar is pretty much nothing mate. Does it overboost for the entire range at 100mbar over? Mine peaks at like 30psi then drops to about 25-26...I know I shouldn't live with it but I do. I'v tried everything :undecided:

Kind of just sits there at 100mbar if I hold the throttle in the same position.
When I floor it thats another matter..It asks for X...but actual is always at least x+400mbar
Hence me thinking the stop screw is allowing the boost be maxed out at x+400 rather than the maximum boost being merely X
Thats just my may of thinking?

Is your car mapped? If so then perhaps the map is crazy? :undecided:

Happens with or without a map on it
