will a VR6 decat pipe fit an 8v?
i no a VR6 exhaust fits an 8v from the cat back as i fitted one to my old car. but seen a full stainless system i may want and it has a decat pipe. is the cat flange that bolts to the downpipe the same on the VR6 as it is on the 8v? or is the cat bigger on the VR6?

sorry i have no idea but i am after an exhaust that will give my 1.4 a nice vrrroooom noise, and just seen your breaking a 1.4 any chance it had a back box upgrade? or is it all standard thanks.

thats gone now mate was scrapped a few days after i stripped it. i better get rid of that add. i do have loads of interior parts if you need any. all the plastics. i also have good engine bits if you want them really cheap. for spares or something. alternator, coil, distributor with leads, carb, rocker cover, good battery. :wink: want rid of them asap so will let them all go very cheap all from a 1.4

Im pretty sure the VR6 exhaust is a bigger bore to the 8v.

I no the exist is a bigger bore but the 8v uses a reducer off the car to make it smaller meaning the cat exit pipe is the same size on the VR6 and the 8v. So maybe the other end of the cat is the same to.

Yes. No rhe exhaust is a diferant size but as already said the 8v has a reducer that comes off the cat so the cat exit pipe is 55mm. If you remove the reducer sleave on and 8v you can fit a vr6 exhaust strait onto it. Like I did on my black golf.
