Title: Golf problem
Post by: Kylestylelcfc on 15 June 2012, 10:52
Morning all

Just picked up a GT TDI, and have come accross a slight problem with the car.

Basically, when starting from cold, if I turn the wheel left or right, there is a strange noise that seems to appear. I can only describe it as a high pitched bird chirping really fast. It only happens when turning the wheel, and will stop after I've been driving the car for say 30 seconds.
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know what it could be :(

Is there any ways to check? It only does it for like 30 seconds then once the cars moving it goes away and doesn't come back till the next day..

Expensive?

Maybe a silly question but have you checked the power steering fluid? My works van had very little in and it made a similar noise
