Title: HELP - Non start

Was tidying up some wires under my bonnet, and my starter motor sparked. Now it wont turn over..
Where to start to check, any fuses? Its a Mk2golf gti 8v

Fuse box on the drivers side just below the dash.

thought  that fuse box was mainly for lights and interior electrical items.

Have you got an ignition light? Sidelight etc. Or is the car completely dead?

Unlikely you killed the starter motor. Electrically it's a double hard b*stard of a circuit - no way to kill that with 12V in the wrong place. Sparks - yes. Dead starter motor - no.

yeah still got ignition lights and lights etc, just no start when i come to turn the key.  :sad:
