Title: Steering column question
Post by: Michael on 12 June 2012, 20:44
I've removed my column from my mk2. Golfy failed the MOT on top steering column bearing so I'm trying to sort this out.

How do I remove this assembly from the column and in turn how will I put the new one on?

Thanks all

You cant with out breaking it...

The new one will be the same...

You need to drill our the barrel as I said it's covered in Haynes where to drill....

Ken. Does the column on its way have this assembly on already or will I need to get another one to go back on?

Happy to drill out the lock as we've discussed to swap my barrel over

Thanks Ken

Ah quality! That sounds a lot easier. I assumed the naked column wouldn't have the assembly on.

Thanks Ken
